Radial Shaft Seals
Simmerring® radial shaft seals reliably seal rotating shafts and are used in millions of applications and a variety of equipment in general industry applications and the automotive sector. This radial shaft seal – often referred to as an oil seal – is based on know-how gained from years of experience. The Simmerring® is constantly being further developed according to the latest state of the art and is particularly reliable, flexible and extremely resilient.
Developed in 1929, the tried-and-tested original Simmerring® keeps up with the times. Our experts have continued to develop it, for example, with improvements in seal lip profiles. This has made it possible to further improve its reliability and functionality across a broad range of applications.
In addition, cassette seals can be offered, which are highly rigid seals whose inner body forms a grease-filled labyrinth. The seal has several sealing and dirt lips (radial and axial), whereby the main sealing lip is spring-loaded. Combi seals on the other hand increase the protection against external contaminants while allowing axial and rotary movements.
Radiamatic Shaft Seals
The requirements are high. Freedom from leakage is not only a "must" for drive shafts in shipping. Cleanliness is also of utmost importance in the paper industry with its high-speed rolls. There are other key factors in addition to the required high functionality: robustness, ease of installation and above all the quick availability of shaft seal rings, for example, in the steel industry. Piston Seals
Piston seals in pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders have the task of sealing the piston against the cylinder tube. The goal is to avoid the transfer of the pressurized operating medium to the pressureless side, allowing the efficient and reliable movement of the piston with the lowest possible friction and without drift.
With “98 AU 30500”, the material development experts at Freudenberg Sealing Technologies have developed a hydrolysis-resistant high-performance polyurethane that offers considerably better properties for mobile hydraulic sealing systems than conventional PTFE variants. The OMK-PU piston seal makes use of this new hydrolysis resistant, high performance polyurethane combined with an O-ring energizer as a potential alternative to piston seals with a PTFE sealing element.
Rod Seals
Rod seals have the task of sealing the incoming and outgoing cylinder rod. The goal is to prevent the escape of the pressurized operating medium from pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders. At the same time, the cylinder must be protected against external contaminants.
Freudenberg Sealing Technologies offers rod sealing systems for every kind of cylinder and application. They are specially adapted to the respective conditions of use and tasks while meeting customers’ high expectations for maximum reliability, service life, functionality and long-term performance.
Freudenberg Sealing Technologies equips its rod sealing systems with additional functions. For example, in addition to storage modules to take in drag oil, pressure discharge functions are used when special requirements arise, including long strokes or great differences in a rod’s incoming and outgoing speed.
Hygienic Line
Cleanliness, hygiene, conformity and durability – the process industry poses a variety of challenges to seals. They must have a high degree of purity, meet hygienic design standards and comply with current industry- and country-specific legal regulations (FDA, 3-A® Sanitary Standards, EU (Reg.) 1935/2004 etc.). With the product line for hygienic plants in the process industry, Freudenberg Sealing Technologies offers a unique product portfolio for hygienic applications. This includes not only the Hygienic Pressure Seal and Hygienic Forseal, which are made of the premium PTFE Quantum, but also dead-space-free radial seals for seat valves, radial shaft seals such as the Radiamatic® HTS II 9539 VL with an advanced sealing lip, shaft seals, butterfly valve seals, Hygienic Usit® rings, clamp seals with support ring and aseptic O-rings.

FFKM O-Rings
O-rings are sealing classics, but the supposedly simple C part has evolved into a high-tech seal. Primarily they are used for static sealing of machinery components against liquids and gases. Special solutions from Freudenberg Sealing Technologies are also suitable as dynamic sealing elements, e.g. in hydraulic systems.

Hydraulic Accumulators
A hydraulic accumulator is a pressure vessel that performs many tasks in a hydraulic system. They are used to maintain pressure, store and recapture energy, reduce pressure peaks, power chassis suspensions, and dampen shock, vibration and pulsations.
Under gas pressure, accumulators store a volume of fluid that can be re-fed into the hydraulic system when it is needed. With a rise in pressure within the hydraulic system, the hydraulic accumulator collects the pressure fluid. The result: The gas is compressed. If the pressure falls, the compressed gas expands again and forces the stored fluid into the hydraulic circuit.

O-Rings
O-Rings are among the sealing classics par excellence. Primarily used for static sealing of inactive machinery components against liquids and gases. Special solutions and special forms from Freudenberg Sealing Technologies are also suitable as dynamic sealing elements, e.g. as piston or rod seals in the hydraulic system.
